Stupid advices by stupid people

In three weeks exactly, we have to deliver our worst nightmare: something that we have in our mind during all the year like a torture, but we only have the willpower to advance it on rare occasions. Of course, everybody knows what I am talking about because almost all of the students have the same feelings than me.

The common thing that always happens in all the TDR’s and is its main characteristic is to do exactly the opposite of all the people say to us, include ourselves. Before chose the topic of our project, teachers, parents, relatives, friends and even ourselves as I said before, they all say to us: “Work every day on summer; every hour that you don’t work on summer, you will have to retake it during the curse” Of course, this is something undesirable because you know that in 2nd Batxiller you have a lot of work to do and a lot of exams. So you decide to do it exactly as people around you have recommended you. However, summer comes and you think that it isn’t so urgent so you postpone it during a few days. You think about the project three or four times a week and you decide to work only one time a week (except if it appears an unexpected plan just the day that you decided that you have to work, like go to the beach with your friends... or alone...) The thing is that you rarely find time to work on your project.

A few months later, in September, when the classes start and you have met your tutor, you start to work eight hours a day because your teacher wants to see your work, and it is in this moment that you realize why teachers, relatives and friends gave you an advice eight five months ago.

To conclude, I know it is useless and practically silly that I say this but I sincerely recommend to all 1st batxiller students to work on their projects every day on summer because every hour that they won’t work on summer, they will have to retake it during the curse.

How to catch a dream at the age of 17

Maybe you will think that I am very repetitive with this topic but I hope this is the last time I will talk about that.

There are probably people who have achieved their childhood dreams before the seventeen. However, in my case, I can’t talk about a childhood dream. In my life, there is something that had had to happen to me before I had this dream; something terrible, a nightmare. This may sound dramatic. Maybe it is but I thing “nightmare” describe well when a child has to stop to do the most important in his/her life (to play football in my case). Since this happened to me, my first objective was to play football again with regularity. After some failed intents to do it, I think I can say that I have succeeded.

Four years, five months and six days after my injury, I have caught my dream. I have already played over ten matches and I have the feeling that I won’t be injured again. Of course, after catch my dream at the age of seventeen, I have lots of dreams that I am sure I will catch too.

My goals

A few words on Obama’s speech have caught my attention because, in my opinion, is the best advise that anyone can give to another person.  This sentence is “You have to let your failures teach you”. I always say that I haven’t regretted anything in my life, even my mistakes or when I have been very unlucky; thanks of these failures I got experience in life and now I am where I am. So even thought I would like not to make many mistakes in life, I am sure that the mistakes I will make will help me to realize my dreams.

The word “dream” is too grandiloquent and when I say “a dream” I think about unreal things that I wished when I was a child, like be able to fly or play in F.C.Barcelona. So I prefer to speak about goals or challenges. I have to confess that I don’t like long term challenges; I prefer to enjoy every day and every moment and put myself little and short term goals. But everyone wishes something for the future and probably my longest term goal is to get a job that realizes me and one in which I can enjoy doing it. In this moment, it doesn’t come to my mind another long term goal. However, I have a lot of short term goals, these are some of them: I want to get my First Certificate and I’m doing the exam this Friday, I also want to get the driving license and, of course, the Batxillerat. There is also a challenge which is not a goal; I want to play football during a long time without interruptions or injuries. It really doesn’t depend on me but I can do exercises and previsions that can help me to avoid injuries.

Obama’s speech is very motivational and gives you inspiration. I don’t want to need second chances although I know that I will need them. But the only thing that I’m completely sure is that I will put my best effort to get my goals, my challenges and, if I can, my dreams.

The necessity of laughing

Everyone is different and every person has his own needs. Moreover, most of us have never known someone who has not laughed ever, that is why is difficult to say what would happen to someone who has never laughed. However, most humans need laugh loudly occasionally because it is proved that it gives physical health, mental health and social benefits.

The best known and the biggest benefits are probably the mental ones. Everyone knows that laughing deletes stress and anxiety and these are factors that makes you less happy. But, what about the physical benefits? Did you know that laughing prevents heart diseases? This is only one benefit; even though, there are a lot: it relaxes muscles, it boosts immunity… We can’t forget the social benefits too. It is helpful for strengthen relationships, for avoid conflicts, it improves teamwork...

What’s the purpose of our life? According to some philosophers, is the personal research to the happiness and the only way to achieve it, is laughter. We have a natural sense of humour, nobody taught us how we had to laugh when we were only days old, but we did. It’s the only natural way to express our feelings with the crying, obviously the first one express the happiness while the second one express bad feelings.

In our society we are educated to earn money and success in the future, so people think that their objectives in the world are to be as rich as possible the day of their death, it’s completely false! You won’t need any stuff in the place you will go after die... So we have to approach every second to be happy and delay the other as much as possible.

To sum up we would like to say “don’t worry, be happy because life lasts two days”. Worries bring problems while laugher eliminate them. Definitely laugh isn’t necessary to live but it’s required to live good, as a person. So, if you want to do a favor to yourself or to the people around you, laugh in every opportunity you have and give a smile to yourself and to everybody.

Sebastian Vettel takes record eighth win in row at the US GP

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel set a new record for consecutive wins in a single season with victory in the United States Grand Prix. Vettel has won eight races in a row, breaking the mark held by Michael Schumacher and Alberto Ascari.

Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher's Formula 1 records are comparedIt is incredible what Red Bull team and Sebastian Vettel are doing last years.
Nowadays, we all accept that Red Bull is, with big difference, the best team with the best engineer. However, a lot of people can’t recognise that Vettel is the best pilot. For me, this is obvious; he has won the last four championships and he shows why he has done it every day in every race and in every train. At the moment, Michael Schumacher has got seven championships and he is considered the best pilot in F1 history but Vettel does not have the intention of stop here; he will fight for be the best of the history next years and we will see if he can achieve it or not. We are expecting to see when his kingdom is finishing. I hope it will last few years more.

Qatar migrant workers 'treated like animals' - Amnesty

Migrant labourers work on a construction site in Doha in QatarQatar's construction sector is rife with abuse, Amnesty International (AI) has said in a report published as work begins on Fifa World Cup 2022 stadiums. Amnesty says migrant workers are often subjected to non-payment of wages, dangerous working conditions and squalid accommodation. Qatari officials have said conditions will be suitable for those involved in construction of World Cup facilities but they have not commented the last report yet.

We live in an era where our only objective is to progress as fast as possible. Countries which are growing and developing fast, like Brazil, China and United Arab Emirates are on the top of the world in economics. As a result, this should have to mean that people who live in these countries don’t have economical problems and they work in good jobs. Even though, the reality is another one; most of the people in these countries are poor and have miserable jobs if they have. Governments sacrifice people fundamental rights with the objective that big companies become bigger and richer. And most of us clap our hands to these counties for their progress.

The biggest problem is not that there are big social inequalities. The main problem is that our objective is not to solve this problem; our objective is to be on the top of the world, no matter how many people have to die if we can achieve this goal.

Huge bomb hits Syria government site

A bomb attack on a Syrian government building near Damascus has killed 31 people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Four generals were among the dead, the activist group said. The explosives are thought to have been placed in the basement, meaning opposition fighters were able to breach security to get into the building.

The Syrian conflict is not a little conflict. It exists since a few years ago and it is causing a lot of deaths. The thing is that, like in a lot of countries, there is a dictator that controls the country and exploits its people, and some people have decided to fight against that. There are a lot of people fighting against the government; they are called “the revels”. However, the government is not alone. If it still has got the power is because other countries give them support. The reason? Countries like Russia and China have big interests in this war because they are becoming richer and richer everyday while the Syrian government is buying a lot of weapons to them.

It is sad, but we have to accept that these intern conflicts are not as close as they seem. Most of them are world conflicts because a lot of countries around the world have interests in these wars.
